Institute of Nano Engineering and MicroSystems
Institute of Nano Engineering and MicroSystems
Brief IntroductionThe mission of the iNEMS is to bring together the MEMS/NEMS-related education, researches and related resources to facilitate the integration effort in the multidisciplinary themes behind science and technology of “miniaturization”. The fields of interest include (1) Biomedical MEMS, (2) RF MEMS, (3) Optical MEMS, (4) Nano-sensors, and (5) Nanotechnology. The Institute has 20 faculty members (10 full-time, 9 adjunct professors, and 1 part-time member) in 2014 directing advanced research and offering graduate level courses. At present, there are 54 M.S. and 53 Ph.D. students enrolled at the iNEMS. The students in the Institute are from different backgrounds, such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Eng., Mech. Eng., Electrical Eng., Applied Math., and Life Sciences. iNEMS is ranked #1 in Micro/Nano research fields in Taiwan together with the highest funding size per faculty in National Tsing Hua University. More than 90% courses are offered in English. We strongly encourage international students from all kinds of engineering & science background to apply our M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
